Tech Racing Can Also Do F1

So RC F1 is warming up. It's not getting hot but it is warm. I think RC F1 would be really popular if they offered large cash prizes at the races. Nothing brings out competitors like money. F1 is the highest form of motorsport so RC F1 should have the highest payout. Pan car tech has evolved into a niche. Some get it some don't. RC F1 has the tuning curve of pan cars with the additional problems open wheel racing adds. Those issues combined make the class unattractive to casual weekend racers. I have a nice collection of Rc F1 cars from the Tamiya Road Wizard, to the Tamiya Tyrell F103, to the Tamiya F201, and Kyosho F1 (the cheesey one) and others. I don't drive them though, but I will soon since one of my friends picked up an F104 clone. I like these cars because they are inexpensive, fast, and scale (cool) looking. Now enjoy another one. The Tech Racing TF108. It looks similar to the Tamiya F103 but juicier. See for yourself.

Yokomo's New Mini

Yokomo has thrown their hats into the "1/12 scale pan car turned mini" ring with their new GT500 chassis. It looks like they started with their R-12 chassis and modified it.This is very similar to the Kawada M300GT. See R-12 below.
Here's a spy shot of the GT500.

It looks promising. To be honest I haven't driven a pan car since I was 15 years old. Back then T-plates and front beams were all the rage. Now, link rear suspension and active front are the hot setup. This car has it. These cars also run a 380 size motor so they should run for a really long time on a standard battery pack. It all sounds so cool on paper that I almost want to build my old RC12i into one. We shall see.

On a different note, I have a dilemma. My awesome ABC Hobby Stratos body has a 210mm wheelbase. My M04L is an L which has a 239mm wheelbase. My M02L is an L which also has a 239mm wheelbase. The M02 can be converted to 210mm wheelbase with a standard M01 front bulkhead. Those are out of production and I have had no luck sourcing one under $50. The M04 can be converted to 210mm wheelbase but the only way I've found has me disassembling the 2 piece arms and building them wider to shift the rear uprights forward. I don't want to do that. I could buy a M03 chassis set (or XEVO Chariot) and build that as a 210mm wheelbase chassis, flip it around and convert it to RWD. but I like my M04. My final option is to try some TA02 arms flipped around and some TA04 uprights. That might get the wheelbase and track inline for the body.

Now lets look at the new GT500.
We aren't finished yet. There is also a video. The cars look slow but I think they were more or less parade laps than competition.

Kawada M300GT

I have been into 1/12 scale pan cars lately. Not so into them that I started building them but curious. They're inexpensive and the Asian RC scene races them with rubber tires and 210mm mini bodies. I have a weird attraction to rubber tire pan car racing. I think the rubber tires can be used to bridge the gap between touring and pan cars. Add 380 closed endbell motors and we have simple little cars that can be tuned and raced. I guess I will have to buy one of these or an old Tamiya F103GT to experiment with the pan car rubber tire mix. I've read on the interweb that combination isn't that great compared to foamies but I want to compare it to full suspension cars. Anyhoot here's Kawada's take on the rubber tire 1/12 scale pan car.

Twelve Naru as the most popular introductory machine never had M300SX 1-based chassis / body combination of 12 real scale, [the merit of driving the height of the Guide and a sense of scale brought merging]. So good and maintain a simple mechanical structure, reducing running costs. In the body if the scale is also a great, great machines Wanmeikuresu fun. The 1/12 amazingly easy to maintain less damage when it crashed less number of parts are lighter than 10 touring! Hang running costs.
1/10 7.2V was used in the touring car category allows a smooth shift can be used as battery packs and servos straight regular-sized. Be run on a foam tire / rubber tires because unlike the 12 racing, you can start to feel the initial investment required and no tire setter.

Because it is an ideal second car easily.
Can be relaxed race be run from an unusual feel. The scale is a scale body, great fun to watch the galleries.
M300GT can be such a thing!
Body can be mounted on the market for a mini! Same wheelbase - 210mm ~ Mini
Minishashi 210mm wheelbase is the same as for the Mini can be mounted directly on the market since the body. 1 / 12 M300GT 1 of the scale / 10 scale Minishashi turn into!
