Team Losi Makes a Giant Dune Buggy

I like the Kyosho Ultima DB. I think it's really cool looking. Apparently someone at Losi felt the same way and decided it needed some competition. Now is the time for us to be vocal and ask the manufacturers to offer more bodies and maybe this will become a class! Instead of a modified class, an open class of these would look awesome. I have always felt RC racing suffers because as a spectator sport it sucks. Many competitors half-assed their paint jobs, 8-12 cars on track means you spend most of the time looking at the same few cars banging in to each other or worse nothing at all. A field of these would at least keep you on your toes with the potential for tire to tire contact. look at these pics and think about getting a big buggy.
Finally, a realistic-looking RC off-road buggy. And not only does it look the part, but it performs like it too. The XXX-SCB is based off the reputable XXX-platform, so you know right away you’re getting a star performer. This buggy also comes ready-to-run with detailed components from bumper to bumper, including a drivers figure and roll-cage, window nets, nerf bars, a Losi radio system with Spektrum 2.4GHz DSM technology, a 2S LiPo-compatible ESC, aluminum oil-filled shocks and much more.

Team Losi 1/24 Micro 4X4 Trail Trekker RTR

Remember Stompers? No not the little buckets that you walk on like stilts, the little 4x4 toy trucks from the 80's. They were cool and fun. People have been making micro scalers from the Losi Micro Rock Crawler for a while now. Now you don't have to have any skill whatsoever and still have a neat little truck.

Oh yeah those guys who think they know everything because they work in the industry and believe RTR's are good for the hobby are really wrong. I read in the newspaper this morning that construction toy sales have increased by 13% last year. Construction toys. People want to build what they play with. Our industry is made up of mostly geeks. Geeks are usually slow when it comes to everything outside their little sphere of interest. This means they have no idea what is going on when the rest of the world is changing. RTR's are useful but we really need to have the option of complete kits with electronics on the shelves next to the RTR's. That will help the hobby grow.

This probably won't be available as a kit though but check it out anyways.
If you like 4X4 trucks and off-road vehicles, you’re going to love the 1/24-scale electric RTR Micro 4×4 Trail Trekker. This go-anywhere, ready-for-anything vehicle comes ready to run, everything you need is included in the box. Not only does it have a Losi radio system with Spektrum 2.4GHZ DSM technology, it also features a high-capacity 4.8V 220mAh NiMH battery for extra long run times. Not to mention the true-to-scale look and realistic details. The 1/24-scale electric RTR Micro 4×4 Trail Trekker is unlike any crawler we’ve ever created.
Want a scale-looking truck that can handle any terrain? The 1/24 Micro 4×4 Trail Trekker RTR from Losi is the vehicle for you. The 4×4 Trail Trekker features an articulating suspension that can handle challenging obstacles like the LOSB1622 Micro Terrain Mountain. The Micro 4×4 Trail Trekker features a longer wheel base and revised suspension geometry than its cousin the Micro Crawler which allows for greater maneuverability when tackling tough terrains. The Micro 4×4 comes completely ready-to-run with a 2.4 GHz DSM radio system, high-capacity battery pack, and charger included. With a realistic scale body in either black or silver and Micro AT Tires, the 4×4 Trail Trekker looks as good as it performs.
Features:
  • Front and rear solid axles with worm gear drive
  • Powerful micro motor with plenty of scale power
  • Losi radio system with Spektrum 2.4GHz DSM technology
  • 4-link suspension articulation
  • Full-time 4WD with front and rear locked differentials
  • 2-in-1 receiver/ESC combo unit

Team Losi JRX-S type R is Soooo Cheap Now

Apparently Team Losi is getting out of the touring car business. That's good news for us since before they go they need to blow out their sedan. What a sedan it is! I built one for a friend and it is awesome. I have always wanted one for myself but I am poor/cheap. Now my poor/cheap side has no room for argument since Losi is blowing this thing out for $199!!! Yes under two hundred dollars. Many many people race them so there is no need to worry about spare parts. Pick up some of the easily broken parts when you get your kit and you will be set to dominate your local parking lot.
JRX-S Type R 4WD Racing Sedan Kit
Team Losi introduces its newest addition to the Team Losi Racing line—the JRXS Type R 4WD Racing Sedan Kit.
JRXS Type-R racing sedan. As the name implies, this is an evolution of the ultra successful JRXS that has won numerous National and International events the last few years. Team Losi bucked the trend of making another copycat version of the all-to-common sedan design with the narrow centrally weighted JRXS. The Type-R retains all the hi-tech features of the JRXS as well as the numerous small changes and design innovations that the team has developed over the last few racing seasons to further enhance the versatility, adjustability, efficiency and performance. Although the Type-R comes with a setup for foam tire racing, it still retains the unique ability to be quickly and easily converted for asphalt/rubber tire racing. The unmatched combination of cutting edge design, hi-tech materials and machined parts make the JRXS Type-R the most feature packed sedan chassis ever offered for pro-class competition.
Features:
  • EA3 suspension components provide strength and durability
  • Revised suspension geometry for improved handling
  • Revised drivetrain layout with centrally located, rear-mounted motor
  • New belt materials and drive pulley geometry
  • New "narrow diff" setup
  • Machined aluminum bulkheads and chassis braces
  • Balanced weight layout for improved handling and response
  • Ultra-narrow chassis and top deck
  • New ball bearing steering system
  • New front upper arm design for strength and stability
  • F/R diff setup ideal for carpet racing
  • Race proven adjustable bladder shocks with single or double O-ring configuration
  • Bottom-load battery configuration accepts NiMH or LiPo packs
Needed to Complete:
  • 6-cell battery pack (individual cells) or LiPo battery pack
  • Touring car foam tires or rubber racing tires and wheels (4)
  • 2-channel surface radio with hi-speed steering servo
  • Electronic speed control
  • Motor
  • Pinion gear
  • 190mm touring car body
