HPI 1979 Ford F-150 Supercab

Here's the winner, this is the body for my scaler project. Look at it. It screams country. I may be a city boy but I can trace my roots straight back to the family farm in North Carolina. This truck would look right at home there. It going to look even better on my rig. I don't like calling them "redneck" trucks because that is an insult and I don't believe in re-purposing insults. Back to the body. It is soo gnarly, it should come with a scale case in the bed.
Go retro with this 1979 Ford F-150 Supercab body for your Savage XL! This classic ’79 Ford pick-up is the longer Supercab version so it fits the Savage XL truck perfectly. It will also fit Savage Flux trucks using the XL Wheelbase Conversion Set (#102404). 2011 Ford F-250 Super-Duty body

I drive a Chevy truck but I love Fords. I have sampled many many different flavors of Ford's F-series trucks. The new ones are pretty awesome but large. I like the size of the 67-04 trucks. These newer ones are just massive. For some reason there are very few new Chevy truck bodies. I'd love a mini Tahoe but these bodies will do for now.

BMW Won The GT2 Class At Sebring

The 12 hours of Sebring two weeks ago was an amazing race. I literally watched it from bell to bell. GT2 was pretty good. The Ferrari 458gt's looked the best by far. The corvettes were pretty sweet too. The BMW's running E85 were dominating. They literally pulled everything down the straights. No gt2 car could touch them in a straight line. Immense speed and good reliability allowed BMW to take the checkered flag for the GT2 class. Now you can build a duplicate of that winning car. Check it out.
This HPI body is an official replica of the race-winning BMW M3 GT2 campaigned by the Rahal Letterman Racing in the American Le Mans Series. Bold styling and an aggressive racing stance make this the ultimate version of the BMW M3. We include two giant sheets of decals that allow you create an exact replica of the BMW Motorsport #90 car driven by R/C enthusiast Joey Hand and Bill Auberlen.
This 200mm body fits wide 1/10 scale sedans and features the usual HPI attention to detail. Included with the body are two large pre-cut decal sheets that include window lines, headlights, grills, tail lights, stripes, official logos and much more, providing your touring car with a realistically finished product.
This body is clear so you can make an exact replica of the #90 race car or paint it in your favorite colors. It fits 200mm touring cars and can also be used on 190mm touring cars with the use of wide offset wheels. Overspray film is included, as well as vinyl window masks to make painting quick and simple. An instruction sheet is included for the decals, and the body has dimple marks for body post drill locations.

JConcepts stampede cover

I don't like the Traxxas Stampede. I think it's a great truck but I never understood the elevated chassis. Maybe because as a kid I spent countless hours trying to lower the center of gravity of my Tamiya Blackfoot. I also have an old Traxxas Hawk. That was an awesome truck. Why did they feel the need to raise this chassis? The truck is a high speed basher not a low speed crawler. It even comes with a 12T motor and a wheelie bar! Now that I'm done whining about it's perceived design flaw lets talk about it's virtues. The Stampede is tough as nails, it's inexpensive, you get spares and upgrades at Pep Boys, and most importantly, it carries the torch lit by my precious Blackfoot all those years ago. Now this chassis cover is available for it and I think it's brilliant. I know these things are water resistant and everything but think of how much cleaner it will be after a day of bashing with this thing on. Now go buy one.

Illuzion – Stampede 4×4 – over-tray – protects chassis from excessive debris
(Fits Stampede 4×4)

When racing on a loamy or top soil track surface the inside of the Stampede 4×4 chassis can become loaded with dirt or debris which creates extra weight. With the JConcepts over-tray these worries are minimized with the simple and functional over-tray. Fitting nicely under the body; the JConcepts over-tray hugs the outside dimension of the Stampede 4×4 chassis protecting the inside from unwanted excess dirt and debris build-up during racing conditions. By minimizing resting surface area the void and protrusion free design is all about performance.
The over-tray is snug around the entire chassis structure while being attached with hook and loop tape around the sides and a slide-in fit in the front for easy access. The over-tray is built with extra height and rake to provide extra room for various electrical and battery configurations.

Features:
  • Original JConcepts simple design and function
  • Includes hook and loop tape
  • Durable clear polycarbonate material can be painted or wrapped
  • Plenty of clearance for various electrical and battery configurations
  • JConcepts – World Proven Innovation and Design

LRP S10 Blast Club Racer

You may have noticed I have been MIA for a few days. No worries Obama came up with the ransom and I was released! So let's see what has happened in my absence. We are now at war (again). They still can't fix the reactors in Japan. Team Oreca won Sebring. LRP has released an affordable touring car. That last one was actually on topic! Yup another cheap touring car. I love it. I still don't know why the parking lots over here on the east coast don't have a bunch of new people (or maybe I'm not invited to the bashes). I honestly think that the whole hobby is shrinking because of the broke-ness (recession), many people can't afford to RC and feed their families. Fools. I bought a pallet of ramen noodles for when times got tough. I may not be able to afford an Avante but I can at least continue to use what I have.

The street version of the new S10 Blast line is also available as Clubracer now. The clubracer version comes as rolling chassis without tyres, body, motor, speedo, servo and radio system.

With the S10 Blast TC Clubracer every racer has the possibility to perfectly equip and setup his car for the demands of local racing series on club level. Many clubs are using own regulations regarding motors, speedos, tyres and bodies. With the clubracer you are easily able to use these components without having any surplus items from a RTR kit.

The S10 Blast TC Clubracer comes with the already proven components of the S10 Blast Offroad line like CVDs in front, adjustable turnbuckles, anti-roll bars front and rear, voluminous „Big- Bore“ shock absorbers, shaft drive train and even more first-class features.

Compared to the S10 Offroad cars, the S10 Blast TC comes with a single-part chassis and without a slipper. The slipper is not needed in Onroad cars and we save extra weight without it. You can mount every commercial 1/10 touring car bodies and wheels, so that the S10 Blast TC is exactly adaptable for the needs in the 1/10 touring car scene and has all the features a real race car has.

Many option parts are available for the S10 Blast TC. According to your requirements and skills, you can pimp your S10 TC with the Standard-, Sport- or Pro-Tuning Sets.

Start your racing career with the great S10 Blast TC!

  • Electric 1/10 Onroad Touring Car; Completely built onroad model (without tyres and body shell)

Team Losi Makes a Giant Dune Buggy

I like the Kyosho Ultima DB. I think it's really cool looking. Apparently someone at Losi felt the same way and decided it needed some competition. Now is the time for us to be vocal and ask the manufacturers to offer more bodies and maybe this will become a class! Instead of a modified class, an open class of these would look awesome. I have always felt RC racing suffers because as a spectator sport it sucks. Many competitors half-assed their paint jobs, 8-12 cars on track means you spend most of the time looking at the same few cars banging in to each other or worse nothing at all. A field of these would at least keep you on your toes with the potential for tire to tire contact. look at these pics and think about getting a big buggy.
Finally, a realistic-looking RC off-road buggy. And not only does it look the part, but it performs like it too. The XXX-SCB is based off the reputable XXX-platform, so you know right away you’re getting a star performer. This buggy also comes ready-to-run with detailed components from bumper to bumper, including a drivers figure and roll-cage, window nets, nerf bars, a Losi radio system with Spektrum 2.4GHz DSM technology, a 2S LiPo-compatible ESC, aluminum oil-filled shocks and much more.
Features:
  • Detailed driver figure and cockpit
  • Aluminum, adjustable oil-filled, coil-over shocks
  • LiPo-compatible ESC
  • LM-32K performance motor
  • Spektrum SR300 receiver with 2.4GHz DSM technology

  • Adjustable slipper clutch
  • Digital steering servo
  • Durable, composite-molded XXX-chassis
  • Losi exclusive Eclipse SCT treads on XXX-SCT Wheels
  • Off-road beadlock-style wheels as used on the XXX-SCT

Tradegy In Japan + ABC Hobby Gambado

If you haven't heard there was a terrible earthquake in Japan last night. This was followed by a massive tsunami which preceded and aftershock and another tsunami. Japan got rocked. The population density of Japan means many many people were killed, hurt, or displaced by this event. I get sick thinking about how many lives have been lost. This is even painful for us since Japan was the birthplace of the RC touring car. Tamiya, Kyosho, Yokomo, and many others are based in Japan. I have no idea how our favorite manufacturers are doing. My prayers will be with everyone affected by this tragedy.

ABC Hobby does it yet again. I swear all they need to do is release a full color catalog and they might top the almighty Tamiya in awesomeness. This is a new FWD mini chassis called the Gambado. It is sick! It reminds me of the Tamiya M05 but cooler. Look at how the springs are separate from the shocks. I don't know if it's better but it is so much cooler. Of course this puppy will more than likely be close to the $200 mark so it gets beat by the M05 by a mile in the price department. It is also pre-assembled so there is another strike. All in all this puppy is a winner and full of more win than Charlie Sheen.
